What Launchpad learn

Four core subjects in real depth, with arts, health and character woven through the week — the same six strands on every band page, at this band's level.

∑

Mathematics

Algebra I and II, geometry, and pre-calculus pathways — sequenced for mastery, with statistics and personal-finance mathematics woven in, because numbers are a life skill before they are a test score.

📚

English Language Arts

American and world literature, composition at college standard, and research that ends in a defended position. Launchpad students write like it matters — because out there, it does.

⚗️

Science

Biology, chemistry and physics in sequence, each with a laboratory spine: hypothesis, method, data, conclusion — and the honesty to report what the data actually said.

🌐

Social Studies

U.S. history, world history, government and economics — including how markets, banks and budgets work, taught from documents and data, not slogans.

💵

Financial Literacy — a core subject

Money is a pillar at Omni, not an elective: earning, budgeting, saving, credit, interest and investing, practiced on real numbers. Every Launchpad graduate leaves able to read a paycheck, a loan and a balance sheet.

🚀

Capstone & Readiness

A year-long capstone: a real question, a real product, a public defense. Alongside it — college and career readiness: essays, interviews, portfolios and the adult paperwork of life, rehearsed before it counts.

THE OMNI SIGNATURE · FINANCIAL LITERACY

Finance & estate — the layering sequence

The signature completes its arc: banking in depth; first income and the anatomy of a paycheck; compound growth as a concept you can compute, not a slogan; credit in real life — scores, interest, and the true price of borrowing; and estate concepts at concept level — a will, guardians, beneficiaries — the documents of a protected life, understood before they are needed. The sequence closes with a money capstone inside the band's capstone year.

A school day in Launchpad

A real school day — seven full hours, 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This is one sample day; the rhythm repeats all year.

7:00
Advisory & Targets — The week's deliverables, today's first deep-work block chosen on purpose.
7:20
Mathematics — Deep work: theory, problem sets, error analysis.
8:40
Science + Lab — Course science with its laboratory spine.
10:00
Break & Movement — Short, real, every day.
10:15
English Language Arts — Literature, seminar discussion, composition.
11:30
Social Studies / Economics — Documents, data and debate.
12:30
Lunch — A real lunch hour.
13:10
Financial Literacy / Capstone — The money pillar and the capstone alternate — both end in artifacts.
13:50
Closing Review — Mastery check; the week's evidence filed, not vibes.

By the end of Launchpad

Outcomes we teach toward — and check, student by student, before anyone moves on.

✅ Completes the full math and lab-science sequences at mastery

✅ Writes and defends college-standard research

✅ Reads financial documents and runs a real budget

✅ Ships a capstone: question, product, public defense

✅ Graduates with a portfolio — and a plan they chose on evidence

The week at a glance

Core courses daily in deep-work blocks; financial literacy and capstone alternate in the launch block; Friday is for labs, seminars and the capstone studio — where the week's learning becomes something that can be shown.

The day program — in minutes

Omni accounts for its day the way America's leading online schools do: programmed minutes, banded by age. Inside the 420-minute school day (7:00 AM – 2:00 PM), instruction runs at this band's level:

The Grades 9–11 day program — 315 instructional minutes a day

Subject blockMinutes a dayMinutes a year (180 days)

Mathematics55 min9,900 min
Science55 min9,900 min
Social Studies55 min9,900 min

A course-block model: 315 instructional minutes a day — 56,700 minutes across the 180-day year.

How learning is checked

The assessment rhythm is the school's skeleton — the same cadence at every grade, at this band's weight:

✓ A knowledge check inside every session — learning is verified the day it happens✓ A block check at the close of every 5-session block✓ A unit test at the close of every unit (a unit is about 18 sessions)✓ Benchmark assessments three times a year in math and English; a science benchmark in Grade 10✓ Semester finals and end-of-course exams in every course✓ The 80% rule: no student moves on below 80% mastery. The material is re-taught, not waved through

The grain of the year

One session is one day's lesson in a subject, so a daily subject holds about 180 sessions a year. Sessions group into blocks of 5 and units of about 18 — ten units per subject, per year, paced across 36 weeks in two semesters. The main instruction video in each session runs 5–10 minutes, the band America's leading schools teach in; shorter segments support it inside the session. Nothing here is improvised: the year's minutes, units and checks are counted before the first lesson is written.
